It was a month before Ponyville's Elementary School resumed for the new school year. Spike was as usual helping Twilight and Surfer Star re-organize the brand new Daring Doo Books and Pony Tale Books that had just arrived while little Morning Star sat in the living quarters reading the latest Daring Doo Choose Your Own Adventure Novel for little kids while the shelving went on. When a thought hit and made him stop mid shelving.

Twilight noticed Spike had stopped shelving and asks him "What's up Spike? It's not like you to stop mid shelving! Something wrong?" Taking his time to make sure his thought process was easy to follow Spike finally replied "It just hit me, Morning Star is almost three summers old now, wouldn't NOW be the best time to sign her up for Kindergarten? That way when we're doing the re-shelving and putting up new books, we won't have to worry about tripping over her and her getting hurt and we won't have to worry about her being bored out of her mind wanting to play with me. After awhile there's work to be done and I can't spend every moment of time with her, she needs to find friends her own age to be with and Kindergarten is just the place to socialize her."

Nodding in agreement and shifting through the mail that had just come,Surfer replied "Ah-hah here it is! I KNEW I seen it somewhere. A letter for little Miss Morning Star from Ponyville's New Kindergarten Teacher Miss Whistle Wishes who just moved to Ponyville from New Colt City a couple weeks ago. I guess I should give her the invitation."

Setting the rest of the mail down on the table, Surfer turned and called out "Morning Star! You've got mail dear! Come and see what it is!" Heaving an annoyed sigh, Morning Star put down her Daring Doo Choose Your Own Adventure Book and walked out of the children's section saying "What is it? Daring Doo was about to rescue the injured puppy from the Temple of Doom!"

Levitating the Pink Envelope, Twilight sent it across the room to Morning Star who took it saying "What's this? An invite? Not another invitation to another one of Golden Mirror's Summer Bashes! I've lost interest in them! They all end up the same, no one allowed in the pool because we're all too dirty. Wait a second! Ponyville Elementary School? What do they want with me?" Carefully opening the envelope, Morning Star levitated the invitation out and read it saying "Someone special is invited to Ponyville Kindergarten! Open the invitation and see who it is!" Opening the invitation up Morning Star seen her reflection and says "ME? Go to Kindergarten? I don't know anyone and I'll be the only one there! I want to stay here read my Daring Doo Choose Your Own Adventure Books, watch Daring Doo's Animated Adventures on TV, play with Uncle Spike like I always do! I don't WANT to go to school!"

Upon hearing her daughter's fuss Twilight pulled Spike aside and says "Sweet Apple Acres, Sugar Cube Corner, The Cottage,Carousel Boutique and Cloudsdale or the nearest lowest cloud you can find. You know what to do! See how fast you can bring all of them here."

Nodding in agreement, Spike headed out the door but not before saying "Kid look, I love playing with you but it's time you started socializing with other ponies your age! I'm way older then you and I've loads of work to do around here that can't get done when you're here! Your magic skills aren't what they should be right now and Kindermagic will be the ticket for you to learn to control your magic. I love your flower tricks but COME ON your mother did that years ago when we first met! You say your dream is to be like your mom but in order to be like Twilight you have to learn to use your magic and find your special talent and so far lets just say sitting around here eating candy isn't gonna help you!
